RE: Anyone heard from David? Tornado in Murfreeboro!
David, I feel for you. Kim was home alone when I was coming back from Savannah last Feb when an EF-3 hit us. We were the first house on the left side that didn't have a direct hit. My neighbors weren't so lucky. We still have a vacant lot diagonally across the street and several more around the neig...

Anyone heard from David? Tornado in Murfreeboro!
Weather channel just showed a bad tornado tearing up his town. We went through that last Feb. here. I hope he is ok.

If you can make contact with anyone at a zoo or similar get big cat feces. I worked in the zoo field for many years and numerous people tried it with great success. Simple predator/prey issue. It doesn't see to matter that the cat is from nonsympatric habitats with local nibblers.

Upon reading Roy's article about the "ak" I though I would throw in a little something extra that you multiplex growers might be able to enlighten me to or perk you interest. I have a "normal", though not, multiplex that I took as a division from the reverting part of the ak clum...

Mike and Robbie at Georgia Bamboo have a nice grove of it in a shady ravine area in Ft.Valley, GA. I got to see it last weekend and the foliage is awesome. I am surprise to hear others are having difficulty while they are doing quite well in the central GA heat.

I do that type of plant with nigra during the winter. Some won't make it but worth a try. I have had good luck with a little longer pieces and doing mass plantings in big nursery pots with 10-20 rhizome cuttings.

Thanks David, but as of now I haven't lost any, just got really set back. Alot of my larger boo that I got poles and divisions from have only 30-40% left above the ground and a large oak crushed my nursery area where I had 50 or so different boos being grown out in pots and hundreds of cannas,ginger...

RE: Prattville,AL tornado
The Bamboo Forest as it is locally called was a good couple of miles from the tornado, so fine. My larger boo along my south easterly fence line had to be cut out to get the tractors in to get the trees out. Also had to pull up lots of small/newer plantings of boo and palms that were in line to be p...

It's surreal. My neighbors' houses are so bad and over 150 houses were completely destroyed and 900 affected.

Prattville,AL tornado
I don't know how much national press we got but we were hit by an EF-3 tornado on Sunday afternoon. I was on my way home from the Bamboo Festival in Savannah,GA and was about 45 minutes out when Kim called me. Here are a few pics of the yard. We were luck that we sustained no structural damage. 50 f...

RE: Any Thai Cooking ingredient enthusiasts?
I just started working with a few citrus myself. I got a small meyer lemon, key lime and two very small honey tangerines. Also a flying dragon to eventually try using as root stock. Got all through trades on GW. We will see how it goes. I would love to get a blood orange and a minneola tree going as...

RE: Will this bamboo survive the Shock?
I typically top off new digs to balance the root ball to the foliage count or even have more roots than greenery. If they look that bad now I would be surprised if you end up with much come spring time. Cut them way down and baby them. You may end up losing the culms you dug, but maybe by chance som...

I hope the nigras are doing good for you. The bananas are doing well and I ended up with one of the sago to produce a leaf. Glad to see you found us overhere in the obsessive world of bambooweb.

Hell, get rid of manicured lawns. Bermuda I think is African and I doubt any of the others are native any closer than there.

I have some henon and nigra potted up. Would be interested in the kanapaha if a shippable size.
