Thanks, Brad. I keep looking for perhaps a photo of a new shoot coming up, which could possibly help with an ID, but so far I haven’t found one in any of the pictures or videos.

Re: Bambusa textilis 'Kanapaha' Flowering
I have noticed no flowering on any of my B. Textilis’, but I will do a visual inspection looking specifically looking for any signs of flowering. I am one who believes there is no difference between B. Tex. “Emerald” and B. Tex. “Kanapha”. Many years ago I did post pictures, on Bambooweb, of identif...

Bambusa Tuldoides ‘Millennium’
Around the turn of the century (2001), I had my Bambusa Tuldoides flower for a couple of years. I was able to get some seeds, and lucky enough to get some seedlings. I did mail some people some seeds, but I don’t have a memory clue as to which people. After a couple of years, my Bambusa Tuldoides qu...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
The D. "Parker" is reminding me more and more each day of something akin to a mule. Across between a male donkey and a female horse, which produces a sterile animal. (A horse has 64 chromosomes and a donkey has 62) The D. "Parker" has made an attempt at reproduction, but just can...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
I noticed that Jacqui Marlin posted this on the Hawaii Chapter of the American Bamboo Society Facebook page: "A question for anyone here who has a Parker Giant: Is your bamboo flowering and dying? It seems this might be happening all over and I am curious if you have noticed it happening with y...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
I sent a packet of my Parker's Giant's flowers to Dr. Chris Stapleton. This is my general interpretation of what he said. Nothing 100 percent specific, but more of an educated bamboo mind musing about the various possibilities on the ID. From what I remember his saying earlier, he was thinking maybe...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
bambambooboo, [[..I'd have thought Robert had from the same source as ours and I just checked his site which states from Hawaii so probably so...]] That's my thinking. I wonder if Robert's Parker is flowering? I sent and email to John Rogers in Melbourne, FL asking about his Parker, but I haven't go...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
bambambooboo, [[..that flowered, sacred bali, but never lost leaves...]] This is the first one I've had to flower that lost all of its leaves. No leaves means it's not giving off any moisture, via the leaves, thus pull nothing up the culms from the roots. That's what concerns me, especially with the...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
Brad, [[..assuming I have the right plant..]] Since it came from Robert, the percentages of it being the right plant would be pretty high, although there is an error factor in anything. I've got one pot that put out a few leaves, but none of the other pots or nothing in the ground had leaves on them...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
BamBamBooBoo, "designating" is "disintegrating" after auto correct! :-) Looking at your pics, looks like you might having something starting. But bamboo flowering is somewhat of a rarity, with each bamboo producing a different type of flower, it's hard to say what we will eventua...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
This is what I've been looking for. At least something similar, but no luck at all. The "seed pods" just seem to be designating. http://www.bambooweb.info/images/bamboo/B_tuldoides_flower.jpg http://www.bambooweb.info/images/bamboo/B_tuldoides_flower.jpg [quote="bambambooboo"]Hiy...

http://www.bambooweb.info/bb/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=711 Awesome photos! I've been lurking for a while and spent probably way too much time pouring over your pictures. I'm planning a project to plant these along a fence line which divides my house from a neighbors. I have a smaller yard, so I'm tr...

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
BamBamBooBoo, Have you got any new leaves on your Parker? My "flowers" seem to be "wasting" away. Not fully flowering and thus no seeds. No leaves, just big old bare no-leafed culms. Roy Your experience is basically the same as mine. Unsurprising, considering I got mine from you....

Re: Dendrocalamus sp. 'Parker's Giant' flowering
So if anyone wants to put a few flowers in an envelope and send them to Chris Stapleton, 11 Chandos Close, Amersham, HP6 6PJ, UK, feel free Chris Chris, I mailed some flowers to you today, Tuesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. EDST. I put them in an electronic media mailer. 1 set of flowers I wrapped in an...
