Sprayed systemic today
Don`t know about the rest of you but I seem to have a bit of a mite problem. Sprayed all my bamboo today with a systemic miticide called Cygon 2E. I wonder what my chances of 100% erradication are.

I think Boo shoot gardens in WA sells liners. Their minimum order is quite large though. I buy most of my bamboo from them for resale.

RE: Predator mites
I was thinking of having a quarantine greenhouse where I will keep mite infested bamboo. Just to keep the predators going. Not totally sure how it will work but I think I will try it in the spring.

RE: Bamboo species naming conventions

I used to say phy-low-sta-sheeze instead of phy-low-stack-is And I just recently learned that it is far-jeez...

Sudden stop of culm growth
This spring my Vivax aureocaulis produced its first shoots. 3 of them all about an inch in diameter. The culms pushed up about 6 feet then all stopped growing. The tops of the shoots have become limp and mushy. The branches that have come out are 6 inch stubs. This is the first of such a thing I hav...
