Cucamelon

Post by johnw »

First time growing these and they certainly are drought resistant. Cucamelons (Melothria scabra) are easy and rather tasty though just started ripening a couple of weeks ago.

I wanted to buy and plant it this spring, but then decided to wait a season or two. Are these any good? Can't imagine the taste. :)

Very much like a mild cucumber with a faint hint of melon from the peel. Not ecstatic but ripened on the cool coast where melons wouldn't do.
