The Friendly Bamboo Revolution

Post by bambooweb »

Does anyone have the book "The Friendly Bamboo Revolution" by Lawrence Stanley?
From the preview at: http://www.bamboo4sale.com/bamboo4sale/ ... review.pdf it looks interesting.
I am asking because one was just donated to the ABS auction.

An example in regards to using bamboo in landscapes...
It is rare indeed that I cannot find a better choice than the scruffy overly dense clumping bamboo oldhamii. I include it here only because it is so commonly specified and used, more from ignorance of a better option than by preference, I believe. Weaver's bamboo meets the specifications with at least some redeeming qualities but in most cases I prefer to leave both these species behind.

You have to remember where he lives and sells bamboo it freezes and he can not grow most tropical clumpers. I am surprised he mentions them at all.

It looks like Lawrence Stanley is only a pen name so it does not matter what list it is on.

Same with people on my XXX list. They use a stage/camera/video name. :D
