still no signs of re-leafing on my giganteus
all my other boos are showing good signs of growth.(except vulgaris which is being added to my list of boos i dont care for)
richard waldron has a prime spot right outside my front door, but may have to be moved.
after a strong spring/summer of shooting it got real ugly. leafing out well now but still pathetic looking. cant have a focal point plant be ugly half the time.
A. scandens i think will be an excellent performer here. shoots well, no cold damage, unique looking.

Re: D giganteus
My Dendrocalamus asper just sent up survival shoots last week so hope for your boo is not lost. You and I share just about the same conditions I would guess, though I am on a lake and it is planted 15 feet from the waters edge to help protect it somewhat.

We have 10 or so D. Asper and 2 D. Asper Hitam. All less than 2 years old. The Hitam in the pot under an oak is doing fine. All but 1 in the field look to be toast. For now anyway. Disappointing but helps weed out what will and will not work long term in Myakka City. It got to at least 24 more than once this winter.
