I am very interested in growing my own bamboo tea. This thread has been very informative to read.
Is there any update on your progress with the bamboo tea.
thanks

Re: Bamboo Tea
On the topic of bamboo tea.... I am a huge tea drinker, so my girlfriend bought me a couple teas (camellia sinensis) and one that was bamboo leaves. Instead of using c.sinensis as a base, this tea blend used bamboo leaves, and they recommended brewing it just like green tea. Well, I tried some, and it was pretty amazing. It has a noticeable relaxing effect on the digestive system, and the taste is actually quite nice. Once my bamboos leaf out a bit more, I may try to make some myself.

Re: Bamboo Tea
dionkar333, did they identify what type of bamboo leaves and did the tea have a brand name?
Southern Indiana.

Re: Bamboo Tea
One source says that they use young madake leaves. The brand name is Bamboo Leaf. I cant find much about this brand, so it must be a newer company.
here is their website: http://www.bambooleaftea.net/index.php
It should be noted that I made the observation of helping digestion BEFORE I looked up their website, since I only bothered to find the site to better answer the question. So, there may be some validity to their claims.
