Bamboo products factory in Alabama planned

I found an article today:

A Washington company is shopping a grassroots plan to manufacture bamboo products in Alabama.
Resource Fiber LLC plans to build two industrial centers at undetermined locations in the Black Belt region within 16 months that will use bamboo to make products like housing tiles and charcoal.
From there, the company plans to plant multiple centers across the region that will use locally grown bamboo, potentially creating thousands of jobs at the centers and at bamboo farms and cutting into China’s near monopoly on the market.
That could be the start of a breakthrough for the poverty-stricken region

Thanks, Alan, very interesting! To me it's a no-brainer that such an industry should have already long been here in the southeast, since it's one of the best places in the world to grow timber bamboo. I wonder what species they are planning on using, supposedly I think there is lots of rubro and aurea in that area but it would be a prime area for bambusoides as well.
