FYI:
Ted Jordan Meredith has a new pocket guide coming out in August supposedly. I think that his Bamboo for Gardens book has a place in all Libraries, so this one should be a good one too hopefully.

Here's a link on Timber Press if interested:

Thanks for the info! I'm really looking forward to it. I talked to Ted about a month ago, and all seems to be well.

Can't wait for this one!

The book is available on Amazon for pre-order.

Ted will be at the ABS conference in October if you would like it signed. You might as well get Mike Bell to sign his book and Daphne Lewis to sign hers at the same time. :)

I can't thank Ted enough for all of the help he has given me over the past couple of years.

I love Ted's last book, and will definitely purchase his next one.

:queue the segue music:

Has anyone heard of a tropical bamboo book in the pipeline? Victor Cusack's "Bamboo World" is now out of print, so there really isn't a tropical/sub-topical book available. Ted's last bamboo book touched on some of the sub-tropicals, but was by and large written for more temperate climates. Just curious.

I've been trying (unsucessfully) for a while to get hold of a new or second hand copy "Bamboo World" by Victor Cusack. I even got in email contact with Victor in the hope that he might have a stock himself he would be willing to sell. I got a nice reply from Victor in which he said he is in the process now of trying to get the book reprinted or find a selling agent as it's still very much in demand in Australia and particularly the USA.
So fingers crossed we will see it again some time in the future!

Here's the trick to that.
Check it out from a library, and call on the due date with one of the following excuses (keep in mind you WILL have to pay for it so don't expect a freebie):
"My dog ate it"
"I lost it"
"My wife/husband threw it away in hopes of limiting the habit" ;) (they might not understand this one)

One of those should work, but you WILL have to pay for it. It will just be a used copy.

I have a copy of Victor's book that I seldom reference and might be willing to trade if I could figure out what I might like in return. In any case my guess is that shipping cost to Australia would be pretty spicy!

I have a copy from a library at the moment but I think I'd feel too guilty if I thought about not returning it! Although I did notice it was last borrowed in 2007, so it's not exactly in demand, I can't believe how many unfortunate people haven't discovered bamboo.

needmore, if you ever think of something you might like in return, I'd certainly be willing to buy or trade!

The alternate method is to have the book accidently fall into your computer's scanner until all the pages have been scanned.

blokker,

Here is a used book search engine that lists the book, it will cost about $20 US dollars with shipping from Australia. Please tell me if this helps.
