Hi there, It is so good to find a forum dedicated to bamboo, cant wait to dive into the mass of info I will find here.
I am Damian, 33, a landscape gardener from Budleigh salterton Devon England.
I have been growing bamboo for around 5 years and currently grow around 65 varieties and forms.
I am very excited to be given the go ahead to start a bamboo display garden at my local hort college, set within a victorian walled garden, around half an acre to play with, watch this space for photos as it develops.
Look forward to getting to know you all!!

Welcome Damian! Sounds like a wonderful opportunity, you get to have a bamboo garden in a beautiful setting, at someone else expense.

Welcome Damien ....
Sounds like you have a cracking collection ...
I'm a new grower of 3 years or so - with a mere 35 species/varieties so far .... but I'm working on 'shoe-horning' a few more into the garden as soon as finances permit!
I envy your climate, Its not quite so hospitable up here in Northumberland!
Have you had the pleasure of meeting Mike Bell yet? - he can't be too far away from you down in the sub-tropical South-west!
Anyway - all the best and welcome to the forum ...

We were just talking about going down the other day funnily enough, I must take a day off and go, its a great time of year to see his collection. His book has been my bible for a few years!!

Welcome! Sounds like quite a collection you have there; you should really enjoy the opportunity of creating a garden situated in the college like that. It will amount to some good reading when you post about it. Good to have your input here.
Regards

Will try and get some photos today of my blank canvas, and some of the plants that will first go in.
Its a bit daunting at this stage to be honest,
Any tips on uploading / resizing photos would be apreciated as I tried before without any success.
I am a techno doofus im afraid!
Thanks guys.

It's SUPER important to get photos before, during, yearly, etc. If you don't have enough "before" photos you'll be kicking yourself in a few years.
As far as photo resizing and uploading goes... what software are you using to resize? You can attach images to your posts and upload them directly to this site, or upload them in the photo gallery, or upload them to another site like photobucket. (You might want to post this question in the "photographing bamboo" section instead.)

I'll also suggest you take overlapping photos, to stitch into panoramic images. Great for giving a "big picture" of the space.

He's invited me down, but I'm not sure I'll make it this year.... hopefully next!
His book inspired me too....
