What is the best EATING type of bamboo available in US?

If there is such consensus.

From taste perspective I have heard "Moso" tastes best. Any other good tasting ones?

How about size? What produces biggest shoots?

And how about production? Does certain species provide year-round shoots harvest while others don't?

I have always heard that Phyllosachys dulcis, aka "sweetshoot bamboo" is the best, but have not eaten any myself.

P. Atrovaginata is my favorite. I also harvest lots of P. Dulcis, and P.Vivax. I have eaten P. Aueosulcata and it's really good. I'm only growing that in containers so I don't get anything big enough to eat. Dug my first Vivax shoot yesterday and had stir fry. YUMMM

I have heard Phyllosachys dulcis as well but mine didn not live long enough to get shoots. Most of mine are just now getting to the point where I can start harvesting shoots. I would certainly like to know if they are all edible and what are the best. I am getting many now that instead of just kicking over I can save and eat.
