Fertigation Systems

Post by Drew_from_ATX »

Hi All -

I currently use a drip system and wanted to here thoughts on using an in-line fertigation system (fertilizer that distributes in the drip system). Does anyone use one of these? Thoughts? Since it has variable distribution rates, I'm wondering if it makes sense to slowly and continuously fertilize throughout growing season..

Here is the one I'm looking at..

If you have a drip system set up, there is no reason the system would not work. Just remember not to over do it, way too much fertilizer can burn & rot the roots, also a little too much N can lead to fast growth, but weaker culms. Let us know know it works out.

Not so sure how accurate those mixers you show would dispense the correct amount of fertilizer. Have used a Dosatron here.
