Cheap Boo
I was at my local Lowe's and saw Fargesia rufa, and Himalaycalamus falconeri in one gallon pots for $10.00. I already have 2 rufas and the other one isn't even hardy to my area or I would have bought some. Wish they would have had something that I didn't already have or something hardy to my area.

RE: Cheap Boo
buy'em and trade 'em...I'd say it's a low risk proposition for you if you can spare the cash briefly while you 'do the deals'.

I would like to have a Fargesia rufa and $10 dollars isn't a bad price. What sort of bamboo would you trade for?ocimum_nate wrote:I was at my local Lowe's and saw Fargesia rufa, and Himalaycalamus falconeri in one gallon pots for $10.00. Anybody got Fargesia robusta, or any other type of clumper that they might be interested in trading? Same terms as Booman.

I went to another Lowe's closer to where I work last Friday and picked up a one gallon pot of Sasa veitchii with a Booshoot tag on it for $5.00. The plants didn't look as good as the Fargesia rufa I picked up in August. but they looked pretty good for 5.00 anyhow.

Before the bamboo came in this year when I would inquire about it. The associates would say yes we have it and when I said I couldn't see it they would walk me to the lucky bamboo display. Perhaps this is part of the reason that I tease lucky bamboo enthusiasts.

Nothing like some good cheap boo, problem is when you run out of room to grow all of your boo.
