I had to snap a picture of this one which is the first true rhizome from my May 2009 started batch of moso seedlings. I was a bit surprised that it was about .4 inch in diameter considering that it is more than double the diameter of its existing culms. I've expected them all to be clumping for a lot longer, but seeing something like this, I think many of them will put out rhizomes this year.

It is bending due to hitting the side of the pot.
