Hi everyone, so into year two with my Dulcis and thus far have eight shoots with the largest at just under an inch and a half. Very pleased but, the other day I discovered damage at the base of shoot #1 that didn't look like the work of a squirrel as there were no signs of gnawing(pic) enclosed. Then yesterday, a couple of hours after inspecting the shoots I looked again and saw that shoot #2 had 5/16" bored in it just above the base. I'm thinking maybe a bird? Any ideas?

Rabbits have been eating my new shoots here this year. I cannot say that is what you have there though.
Happy trails...
