We can thank ipower for that one.
From their support website:
If your site employs PHP scripts, please note that we have disabled the allow_url_fopen functionality in php.ini files at a platform level for security reasons.
I will try to find a fix but I have a job away from the office for the next few days.

I see that they offer a switch on the new platform to turn the allow remote URL on. They tell you if you are still on the old platform you need to switch to make it work. I think that they disabled it now in order to make people switch over their sites faster. :cussing:

It now works for some images. I would have had more time to look for the problem but ipower would not let me FTP into my account. :banghead: Somehow the password had changed since Saturday. I had to log into vdeck and change the ftp password back to what it had been for the past two years.

I don't want to scare you, but I did a web search and turned up a lot of pages like this:

(URL was also broken yesterday, but strangely, it broke after IMG did. Go figure.)

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.
