There are a few items in the auction that I am interested in.

I have the benefit of intending to go the live auction.

Is there a history of death threats toward live aucton winners from those who cannot attend?

No, you just have to promise a division to the on-line winner.

I got an email saying I won the auction on the Bambusa Emeinsis Flavidorivens. If I got that one for $50 plus shipping, then I think I got a real deal. That is one of my favorites. I have one really growing well in a 120 gallon pot, although I don't have any in the ground. The green Emeinsis with yellow stripes really likes our soils, so I am hoping the yellow form will also.

I think the email said I would get another email detailing how I can pay for and get the bamboo. Yippeeeee!!!! :D :D :)

Allen,
You should have also received an email saying the Max Bids were going to the proxy and you can still raise your Max Bid.

That was an automatic email sent by the auction software. Here is the one sent on Sunday.

Here are the results so far for your bids in the ABS Fall 2008 auction. The proxy will take your Max Bid to the live auction and bid on your behalf. If you would like to increase your max bid please contact me before Monday night because I will be leaving for the meeting early Wednesday.

Thanks and good luck,
Bill Hollenback

Bill is at the meeting and I think he is going on the field trip today. I would imagine he will get the results this week sometime.

FWIW, quite a few of the online bids held up.

Of course, mine didn't and I had to bid more than 3 times my online bid to secure my B. chungii.

Also, the high hopes for a P. edulis 'Tortoise Shell' were dashed when it went for only $2000.00....one bid. My $5 bid was not accepted.

The bamboo gods smiled on you. :D You won at that price.

23 auctions were one by web bidders. I am even able to take home 2 plants from the auction.

I have to go now but I should have some results up tomorrow and start sending out the emails on Tuesday.

Bill

PS It was nice to meet bepah and foxd. I wished more of you could have made it. The tentative date for next year is the last weekend in Sept so mark your calendars.

FANTASTIC news. That is one of my favorites. I really hate to divide, so that will give me two of those. I have the perfect place for it. Definitely one of the best looking yellow with green stripe bamboos. GREAT price.
