Chinese Garden Bamboo Hands on Care Day

Saturday, April 4, 2015
9:00AM to 3:00PM

All experience level gardeners are welcome to attend.

A tour of the garden to the group for 30 or 40 minutes to start.

A demonstration the tools for pruning, thinning, mulching and raking between the culms to make it all look magical. Showing simple fence construction out of the bamboo trimmings. Bundling canes, tying and attaching the bundles to our fence frames.

This days goal? Tour, brief demonstrations, then you are welcome to have hands on experience in the care of this gardens bamboo under the instruction of experienced bamboo gardeners. The removal of old, dead, damaged canes and side branches. Pretty up the plantings to the extent we can focus in on and get done in a 4 hour time span.

Bring your own tools that would be useful. Gloves, safety glasses, pruning shears, loppers and pruning saws.

Make new friends and talking about bamboo is my primary objective. If we get some projects done, that is great too.
