I didn't cut or trim my ground cover bamboo(s) this year, mostly because they where rather small and secondly I was rather curious to how they would look this year. I've had mixed results to be honest with some ground covers naturally dieing back to the ground and then mulching themselves. All the way to plants keeping culms and leaves into June of this year. My personal favorite has been the Pleioblastus fortunei that I asked for a ID last year. As you can see the culms survived and thankfully it didn't flower this year.
