Too early to split/transplant?

Post by steve-in-kville »

We are having a mild winter here in Pennsylvania, so far. I have some Rufa I need to move and split. If this weather trend keeps up, I was thinking perhaps mid-February. Too early? Is there a certain weather trend I should look for before moving plants?

Nevermind, looks like they changed the forecast to be a lot warmer.

I'm tempted to move some plants next week. Daytime temps all but 50*F. Overnight temps just below freezing.

Update: My rufa haven't thrown shoots yet, so I'm gonna start moving/splitting plants this week.... provided the rain stops long enough to do it!
