Phyllostachys bambusoides ‘castillonis ‘ flowering in uk

A Facebook friend that blogs on plants has his castillon flowering, mine isn’t flowering anyone else have it flowering? It looks to me that it is part flowering and he has had damage to the bamboo by rats, could that be the reason thoughts please https://youtu.be/bWd82aF0sJM

That one flowered in the 70's or 80's I've read so his may be environmental?

Thanks brad his rat problem could be the cause then, it must be a plants way when under attack to set seed

Wow, that would be one of bamboos that I would love to grow from seeds. The bigger the better. :)

Apparently seeds from it come up green well they did in 70s

99% will always come out green. There is only a small chance you get a colored variation. But there's always a chance.
