We typically get a decent amount of snow where I live and so my bamboo usually gets buried by it. Should I start uncovering it? Or does the snow act as a sort of barrier again the wind and cold?

By all accounts I have heard, leave the snow in place, it will insulate your plant from the cold. That and you may actually harm the plant by trying to remove it.
