Exciting new arrivals
Well after a long wait for these rare bamboo’s they arrive a day before my 40th birthday, introducing Phyllostachys Nigra ‘Kiyoshi’ and Fargesia sp. scabrida 'Silver Dragon'
Re: Exciting new arrivals
Your 'Silver Dragon' doesn't look anything like that photo -- do the leaves show max variegation when fresh, then fade to mostly green throughout the season like many do?

Re: Exciting new arrivals
A variegated form of F. sp. 'Scabrida' found at our nursery. Has bright, narrow white stripes on the foliage, especially evident in the spring as new leaves unfurl. Colors fade somewhat by summer. Not heavily variegated, but does provide a nice frosting of bright foliage. Similar to F. sp. 'Dracocephala' 'White Dragon', but stripes more defined, rather than akebono style.
