Growing Bambusa ventricosa 'Striata' south uk ??
Bambusa ventricosa 'Striata' Has always been a bamboo I would love to grow but I live in uk, I am in the coastal south of uk and the lowest I get “normally “ is -5c. I have read that it can take down to -6c. I know I am really pushing it but really would like to grow this bamboo, is there any other problems with growing this bamboo in uk apart from temperature, I would appreciate any input

I don't know much about this bamboo or growing it in the UK, but I would say that if it's not super expensive it's at least worth a try if you really want it. Another thing to consider with the temperature issues is perhaps finding a microclimate in you yard. Sometimes, dependign on circumstances, a microclimate can be an entire zone above the surrounding area so its worth a bit of research. Ultimately though, the only way you can be 100% sure about how a plant will grow in your situation is to try it out.
