Growing bigger in small spaces

I'm trying to grow large runners in small space profiles, this is Phy vivax 'Huangwenzhu Inversa' that has been in ground about a year. Right now all of my running bamboo are in a clumping profile but the project gets harder this year I suspect. Photos get a little larger when clicked.

Looks so good Brad! I seem to be doing the opposite: growing smaller runners in larger and larger spaces. (Darn polar vortexes!) .
