Rhizome Barrier Manufacturers
Is Deeproot the only company that makes it. Anyone know of any other companies. Its hard to compare prices when all I can find is Deeproot. And it isn`t cheap. $400 for a 300` roll.

RE: Rhizome Barrier Manufacturers
Booboy,
One thing to consider is how much you need. The place I bought mine from had the material in 25 foot sections and I needed over 100'. That meant they had to melt it together at each seam. They told me it would be if anything stronger than the rest, but I ended up being a little disappointed. Some areas seemed pretty thin and the surface was not completely smooth (giving rhizomes something to grab onto). I ended up having quite a bit extra and put 3 foot sections in front of where each seam was.
At the time I saved money over the prices at bamboo nurseries only because they quoted me a commercial rate. I would get nothing thinner than 60mil thick, preferably 80 mil. I believe the place was called Field Lining Systems, but search for HDPE barrier or material. Please make public what you find. I would assume the only major savings would be found if you could pick it up locally. Shipping is very expensive.

The only place I know where to get 80mil is New England Bamboo Co.
I got my 60mil's from Tradewinds and Bamboo Garden in Oregon.

I'm sure 80mil must be very difficult to work with and extremely heavy too.

I never use berriers.. I want my bamboo to run like mad and attain max size quickly. The more it spread the happier I'll be!

A boo addict is easier to spot than a toupee.

King,
You really only need a bedroom, kitchen & bathroom. Guess for you, downsizing the house is next. Let me know if you want me to come over with my sledge. I love a good demo job

The use of barriers, is known to increase the culm size quicker than an unrestricted plant

Bamboo...Please note... This plant is seriously addictive and you may lose interest in other, less rewarding plants!

I knew there was a method behind the madness. Fatter culms..cool.
