Other bamboos with yellow sulcus besides Yellow Groove?
Is Yellow Groove the only cold hardy (zone 6-7) bamboo with a yellow/pale green sulcus? I have one with a pale yellow sulcus that seems somehow different than my other YG.

There are others but 'up rub' the culm and if it is sandpapery it is yellow groove...

It must be YG, then. There is a slight sandpaper feel on some of the culms (others are smooth), but not nearly as noticeable as on my other YG. There is also a little bit of this kind of discoloration on a few of the culms - http://www.bambooweb.info/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6580 - though not as much as that vivax. Haven't seen this yet on YG.needmore wrote:There are others but 'up rub' the culm and if it is sandpapery it is yellow groove...
Thanks for your help.

You'd have to go out of your way to have any of the others as they are not so common, there are vivax, aurea, viridis, arcana, bambusoides & some others as well but not easy to stumble across.
