Max diameter 3", 60' tall, very tight clumping

I am just starting to learn how to weave, strip et all, wondering if this variety good for weaving or doesn't make any difference???
Any input would be wonderful...

I think I recall Roy Rogers here in a recent post refer to a Bambusa that makes above ground roots like yours, I could not find that post but perhaps you can search for it. He may see this and weigh in and I bet he can tell what you have there.

Tough to ID from those pics. Possibly seabreeze aka maling? No idea really. I would say though that the rooting above grade occurs on a few different clumpers. I've seen that on vulgaris , on maling, on golden Hawaiian, etc.

Your height description seems off, 60 ft sounds too high for 3 inches. You can just cut one down and walk it off or even easier just measure by stick (google that).

What info would be needed to ID this bamboo? Diameter and height are accurate.

I just don't know what photos would help.

Sorry not much help. The height completely throws me.

Might be better if you show photos of height, of leaves, and certainly of the new culms as they sprout this season. Sometimes they are hardest to ID when young but other times the new shoots are quite telling as to species by color, form or manner. Certainly it could give others clues they might recognize.
