Castillon (kimmie madake) or Huangwenzhu (kimmie vivax) or ?

Post by D9988 »

Think I have this narrowed down to either Castillon/Kimmi Madake or Huangwenzhu Inversa (kimmie vivax). I looked at a few other types like Spectabilis and crookstem, etc, but seems like these are the closest two. Can anyone help out?

Both young and mature canes both feel smooth, and it looks like the biggest canes are around 2-2.75" and I'm estimating the height to be around 35 feet

It does look like Phyllostachys bambusoides Castillon to me.

I'm reading about the Castillion flowering around the globe and have seen it doing so here so you might not want to give it any space right now.
