Yep. He's a coming.

Hanna looks like she is going to wreak havoc on the eastern seaboard.

I hope we can dry out a little before anything else comes this way. Although, I did enjoy sitting around for a few days eating cookies and watching the weather channel. It'll be another few days of sunshine before I can mow again. I guess I should fill up the spare gas tanks and check the generator; we might just need it before this season is over. Hopefully, Brad gets the rain he needs so he can quit calling those things this way (just joking).

I hope so, we could use a good soaking. This of coarse comes from someone living near the top of a big hill.

Looks like Florida is going to get some more or the Carolinas are going to get a one two punch. THe models for Ike show a right turn at Cuba.

Well, for right now we have stopped holding our breath, but Ike hasn't even hit Cuba yet and these things are very unpredictable.

Since English is my 2nd language, Southern American being my first, I need a little help from you Native Speakers of English. I would like to know what word/phrase/category (?) etc this scenario would fall under or in.

As I keeping watching the National Hurricane Center's website, and I see that the predictions are that hurricane Ike will likely miss the State of Florida, I am very happy, excited, relieved, exhilarated. But on the other hand, I have sisters/ bothers/friends who lived and Texas and I am saddened, depressed/awful and etc. thinking of their likely fate.

I would like to know what word/phrase/category (?) etc this scenario would fall under or in. Opposite feelings from the same event. OK Native Speakers. I'm ready now for your answers.

If you don't want to publicly display your brilliance, then you can PM me.

Is it just me, or is this hurricane season a bit more active than normal? Seems like every week we have a new storm entering the Gulf of Mexico. :?

Seems like 2004 all over again. They just keep lining up and waiting their turn.

My livingroom was full of containerized bamboo during Faye. Think I'll wait till it's a sure thing this time. Just stay away from Boonuts this time. Give the guy a break.

The latest I saw projects a hit about half way between Galveston and Corpus, so I guess it's testing the durability of the off-shore wells. Fill those tanks, they'll be shutting them down again in a few days.

Looks like those of you in the south Texas area better get you're ducks in a row! Ike is taking aim on you're butts.
Stay safe & good luck to all.
