we are expecting lows in the 20s for the next four days so yes we should all move to belize.
they only rarely dip into the 50s.

cool, what about bugs, is that a big annoyance? And also, what about monkeys stealing fruit? that would get old afterwhile.we are expecting lows in the 20s for the next four days so yes we should all move to belize.

Re: belize
bugs are not a big problem.
just sand flies when there is no wind and the occasional botfly leaving maggots in your head.
how could i possibly be mad about monkeys stealing fruit?
they just make me laugh.

hmm, maggots in my head or -20F , hmm, let me ponder this
Re: belize
In Belize you do not have to worry about the monkeys stealing fruit that would be the least of your worry's it is the monkeys that throw S... at you (howlers) that you would need to worry about.

Years aago when I lived in New Orleans there was a Spider monkey that ran wild in the neigborhood and when you went outside you had to check above you because he would take p--s on you.

Re: belize
Years ago we were given a kitten that turned out to have a hole in her side that something kept poking out. We took her to the vet who said, "Prepare to be amazed!" and extracted a bot fly larva from the hole. Apparently living in Southern Indiana (and perhaps Iowa) doesn't mean we won't encounter some form of bot fly.

Re: belize
when I managed a pet store we would get shipments of box turtles in that had to be checked for Bot fly larvae... nasty! I pulled out 40 of them from one turtle. glad we dont have human bot fly here!
South america really seems to have some nasty critters down there. Anyone heard of a candiru catfish

Re: belize
here in florida bot flies are common parasites of squirrels but only very very rarely infect people but i think i would rather have that than the candiru or "south american naughty catfish"
better a maggot in my head than a spiny catfish in my....other head.?
