House palm identification

[Case]

Need some help with an ID on this palm. It is old, probably 25-30 maybe more years old. My good friend gave it to me about eight years ago when I lived in Colorado, since then I have moved down to South Alabama. I have managed to get a couple of rootings that are doing well off of it. I would like to fiqure out what it is and what kind of temps it can take out in the elements, as I would like to plant one one in the ground outside. Any help would be greatly apprecaited. it looks like one that I have that was top killed last winter when temps dropped to 21f but coming back slow and steady
I was told by a friend that was growing and selling palms that the common name is " Pony Tail Palm "
not sure if that is correct or not but it works for me

Don't ponytail palms get a bulbous base to the trunk? From reading it seems like that's one of the key characteristics, and a 20 year-old specimen would surely show that, wouldn't it?

The dracaena pictured here is likely the one I'd see in Hawai'i and has clusters of very fragrant flowers if they are happy.

In the time I have had it it has never flowered. Thanks for all the help everyone, I think I will be upsizing the container soon.
