Homemade, DIY Power Bed Dump for 1998 Kawasaki Mule 4X4

Post by David »

I have wanted to add a power dump to the Mule for some time but they run from $700- $1300 which is way out of my budget for such a luxury.
I made this one from parts that I acquired over the years and $5 worth of scrape steel. I already had a winch on the Mule so I used it as the power source.

Having trouble with the pics upload. I'll try again later.

Looks great David. What size is the bed? I didn't realize just how heavy dirt is until I started calculating for my dump trailer. Now if the soil will just dry some.

The bed is about 4'X5'. The Mule will carry 1000lbs, and that load was 3 buckets. I'm going to add a brush guard which should solid up the bumper for the added stress. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it. Sure will make hauling and unloading easier!

I'm jealous David! Can't say my wife minds the spring digging/potting season though... After umpteen billion shovel loads of soil- shovel into the truck, haul home, shovel out of the truck, shovel into pots......

It's about as close to "beefcake" as I get :o
