I think sulfur and ironite is working on my parvifolia because its noticably greener than it was 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping for it to get as dark green as bissetii after a few more weeks so I added in another handful of this stuff.

I think having enough chlorophyll is important in taking in solar energy, so the darker the plant, the better off it is.

Ironite seems to working here too even for the very very potbound nigra. Everything is greener and looking healthy.
Just goes to prove that when I think I'm doing enough I'm not. Four month time release Osmocote and twice a week Miracle Grow plus daily water will now be joined by Ironite feedings once a month or so. I'm hoping for a major result come Spring , two inch culms on the Parvifolia in three growing Season's  , Dream on. Well I can try can't I.
All the Best

Is this an established grove or a new planting? I ask because I have had new , one to two year plantings that have been ravaged by gophers, and turn yellowish, in which case I Fertilize, and Water heavy, and try to catch the fur bag. (And my babmoo loves Ironite)

I used ironite on my new plantings and established boos. They both loved it.

Ironite seems to be an allround winner for most Bamboos. I bought another bag , now I need to source some bigger bags and use it on the Lawn too. The Bamboos here have stayed very green since I started using Ironite. I'll have to take a couple of hundred lbs back to France when we go. :D
Guess I sould add a couple of hundred lbs for Markj too.
Best Wishes

Hi everyone,

what is it exactly "the ironite " ? is it a classic fertilizer containing a high % of iron ?

when do you use it ?
