There are two, but this one had much better hair style. Actually I missed the other one, it grew just a tiny bit too much. I can't even imagine how it would look in the right zone with culms up to 2 inches!needmore wrote:That 1st shoot is certainly bladey!

B. Fungosa after a couple of - 5C nights and sunny slightly above freezing days. Soil wasn't frozen yet, so there seems to be no damage yet, but stems and branches seem to be getting colorful. Mobile phone photo, not the best quality, but it does look good enough to publish.

Re: Several bamboo photos
I'll snap a photo of it now with emerging spring. It went down to almost -20C this year and I tarped it and covered with some snow that luckily fell one day before we were hit by cold blast with strong dry northern wind which would 100% kill it. It remained green! Not only that, I think even the late summer/autumn shoot remained alive. They did loose some of the buds that already started branching out, but there are also some that didn't dry out. It's slow to start (FINALLY!) this year, despite the fact that it constantly started growing before the end of winter. It looked like this in mid January and it still looks practically the same.. http://cold-hardy.com/freeze-damage/fungosa-top/
