Re: Phy Propinqua ‘Beijing’ Flowering
Yes this will be a first for me since I've only spent my experience with bamboo propagating it. I think I've read that seeds are ready in about two months after flowering is that correct?

Re: Phy Propinqua ‘Beijing’ Flowering
After showing my girlfriend what flowering bamboo looks like she pointed out that mine is also flowering. I showed her a few weeks ago that my veridiglaucecens was flowering . I will try to post pictures of it tomorrow. And of course if I can figure out how to get seeds people are welcome to them.

Re: is my veridiglaucecens flowering?
Thanks for the information Brad and David. Funny thing is I was thinking about downsizing and it was going to be one of the plants I would probably get rid of because I have 25 species on a small piece of land which is about a third of an acre. If I do figure out how to get some seeds I would gladly...

I'm creating mazes in my yard. Right now by rhizome control. The gravel sounds like a better way besides the polyethylene barrier

Re: I'm guessing a stray rhizome or?
Thank you! good advice. Since the picture was taken from the road, that is the side that I want to control to keep it out of the road. I will probably dig it maybe next year or sooner . I can see it next to the original mother plant

Re: I'm guessing a stray rhizome or?
photo-6.jpeg It didn't have the texture of the Areosulcata. The leaves are about the same size as my vivax or my red margin. It must be an intruder but it hasn't produced many culms in 3 years; (3) including the dead shoot. I will end up leaving them since they don't do anything to the spectabilis ...

I noticed these two culms that are all green and resemble say Nuda. The first culm grew 2 yrs. ago and the next one last yr. This years shoot died. All three...

Re: The state of Connecticut eyeing bamboo for invasive stat
Congrats. to my Ct. neighbors.I wish I could have helped more, but things are too hectic. Brads solution is the only fair way to go, especially if it was an elderly persons yard who had no means to remove the Bamboo. Whats her next move? Someone mentioned Hartford.
