Hello and welcome to the site! Glad to see someone more around my age. (not that I don't appreciate the rest of you kind folks!)

I'm not concerned about harvesting it for anything really. I want to grow it as a house plant more or less. It seems really interesting. It actually can survive in Canada they've had problems with it in a couple of areas but that's why I want to restrict it to a pot.

Does anyone know where I could get my hands on some Kudzu? I live in BC and would like to grow some in a large pot. is there anywhere I can get seeds online?

All my Phyllostachys Nigra did this year was grow vigorously. That being said it's hibernating right now so won't know until next year I guess.

I built a 10 inch box around my bamboo and I'm wondering if the bamboo will rot if I bury around 10 inches of the bottoms of the canes.

I think you might be right about the sun thing bleaching them a little.

Regardless of the problem I threw some slow release fertilizer on them so I'll see where that gets me.
