Re: Bambusa nana

And here is that stubby single culm division about 11 months after planting.

Re: Dendrocalamus minor supergrowth

Looks like they are quite happy, mine in northern CA did very well and reached 2” diameter in year 2. Here my young one has been focusing on multiple shoots with a modest upsize so soon I bet it leaps in size.

Re: Dendrocalamus minor supergrowth

Nice work! No, in fact I would thus far describe my subtropical forms as being much slower to elongate shoots that the running forms so neither in CA nor here have I seen that type growth. You must be having rain?

Re: How to train Bambusa oldhamii?

Re: Bambusa venticosa flowering

So I picked up 10 of them, tossed them in pots and threw some mulch on them. They are sti...

Re: Shoot thread

I was expecting mine to push shooting back toward fall once they matured some and got out of this always shooting phase but it sounds like yours have not done that? As I understand it they generally held off in their origin climate until late summer early fall rainy season so maybe they are somewhat...

Not really enough to go on but Phy nigra 'Henon' is a near-fetched guess.

Re: Shoot thread

No experience with salt inundation here but it seems like you’d see signs of distress if that was an issue.
