Another sign of spring found today! Our native salmonberry bushes are just starting to flower.

I pulled off the leaf mulch on my Gunnera Manicata & Tinctoria today. They've been busy under there!

G.Tinctoria looks like some sort of mutant hairball/alien/flying spaghetti monster.

Bashania Fargesii is one of my favorites! I planted a 1 gallon size plant in 2008. Last years culms (spring 2012) are around 20' tall, 1.25" thick and takes up about a 10'x10' area. It's one of my first to shoot usually in mid march. I cant wait to see what mine does this year! I took a few pic...

I'm worried my clump of Bashania Fargesii might be diseased or have some sort of mineral deficiency.
