I dont think Bill is worried too much about space.....
thanks for posting, most of us are plant-a-holics as well as boo-a-holics, so we love to see what other peoples gardens look like, as well as what thier bamboo looks like integrated into the landscape.

Very nice indeed.

Looks like he put that into a very confined space with most excellent results.

I just dug all the stray rhizomes a few weeks back. that is what got me interested in Boo.
I helped clean the big koi pond yesterday and install a new liner.
I installed a barrier between the pond and the bamboo the back side has a ditch to check for stray rhizomes. I cut and pulled 40-50 feet of rhizom.
LOTS OF BUDS!!!!
I do not know the species.
I counted 12 new shoots since I pulled the rhizome...

Re: My Fathers Japanese Garden photos
nice pics.
did you mention where you are located?
I hate to borrow garden ideas from people until I know if their climate is similar to mine.

Hello Dudley,
My father is in a country setting in what I would say is the same as
needmore 5-6.
Hopefully as I am "IN TOWN" the proximity of the houses will increase the temps by a few deg. , though I am 30 miles north of my dad.
My house has a fruit cellar. My plan is to pipe some air into my green house from the cellar that does not get below 50 deg. I tested this a few years back with a pan of water that was not froze on one of our coldest days.
