House Plant ID

Post by foxd »

I have three plants that I have no idea what they are. I'm hoping someone here can ID them.
The first plant.
The first plant.
The second plant.

The third plant.
The third plant.
The third plant again.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

roscoe: I think you're right, the pictures of Jade match what I have. So the genus is Crassula and I am going to have to wait until it blooms to identify the species. :?

GrowingHabit: Doesn't quite match, no red central vein on the leaf for one thing.

Three and four are the same plant and definitely not garlic. The leaves are fuzzy and I am pretty sure it is a succulent of some sort. I may be able to find some more clues to its identity.

Two is defintiely a Jade of some sort.

One seems to be a mystery. The leaves smooth and shiny. I would say it is a succulent of some sort.

Going on the assumption the third plant is a palm and after much googling, I'm tentatively identifying it as Nolina longifolia.

#1 looks like Peperomia obtusifolia (Baby Rubber Plant)

I have a couple of those but in lower light and they're not as upright. Impossible to kill though unless you over water maybe -- I never have that problem. It's more like: did I water that this month yet?

Alan_L: I think you may have identified it! Pictures on the web do seem to match the leaves and stems.

So it looks like I have:

1) Peperomia obtusifolia
2) Crassula somethingorother (Jade)
3) Nolina longifolia
Southern Indiana.
