Colocasia esculenta "pups"
I've got some large Colocasia that I overwintered in the garage. Just left them in their big pots. Now they're awake and producing several pups, and the pots are going to be jammed already, so I want to remove the "pups". Is there anything special I need to do, or can I just dig them out, severing them from the main plant with a knife or whatever is necessary? Unearthing the whole plant so I can remove the pup is not an option.

Re: Colocasia esculenta "pups"
Just for future reference, this is dead simple to do. I just sliced down where I thought the pup was connected and dug it out.
Even in cases where I thought I sliced too thin, the pup made it and is putting out new leaves. I thought for sure this one wouldn't make it:
But it's doing fine!
