Stairs are arizona flagstone, rock on the side of the stairs gathered from local mountains.
Photo of work completed this year including the bamboo bench redo to make it more waterproof. Section with raw cement blocks will be another bamboo bench.

Fred, not sure why you've taken so much time and effort on the bench. A bamboo bench is much easier to make than any of us thought:

Doing a level per year. Total time to date approx 4 months (2 people). Yes - each step has a concrete base. As you can see it is very steep so a base is a must. The rock on the side of the steps helps to give it a natural look. Thanks/Rgds
