Varigated Solomon's Seal (was: What plant is this? ...)

Other plants we have or landscape elements like ponds.

Varigated Solomon's Seal (was: What plant is this? ...)

Post by oZmonKey »

The way it is spaced, it looks like it might be something we planted last year or the previous, but then got eaten by deer perhaps?
I also see it around various other parts of my land, mostly just inside the treeline. I'm guessing flowers of some sort.
This pic is just one of several clusters.

It looks like Variegated Solomon's Seal to me.
Southern Indiana.
My Bamboo List.

The legal issues that will arise when the undead walk the earth are legion, and addressing them all is well beyond what could reasonably be accomplished in this brief Essay. Indeed, a complete treatment of the tax issues alone would require several volumes.

I have regular solomon's seal, and this has the same look. (except it is variegated)

Now that it's developed more, I remember it. Last year the deer chomped it clean down to the mulch.

This time around I've been sprinkling red (cayenne) pepper in copious amounts and so far it's deterring the critters.
