My ebay story:
I bought some EBAY bamboo last winter. "8 - 1 gallon plants for about $80" with shipping
I received a mature culms CUT to 5 inches in height and the soil ENTIRELY WASHED AWAY. I wrote the seller back and he said of course there is no soil that way its cheaper to ship. Only 1 has survived (barely). Never again.

I've purchased 3 bamboos from eBay. All 3 were mis-ID'd... not even close. Obviously meant to deceive.spiros wrote:My ebay story:

sold as: B. emeiensis 'Flavidovirens', received: B. multi. 'Golden Goddess'

sold as: B. pervariabilis 'Viridistriatus', received: B. multi. 'Alphonse Karr'

sold as: B. textilis var. gracilis, received: B. multi. 'Silverstripe'

Oh well, at least they all survived.

Re: Ebay Bissetii

Hello Group,
The ebay yellow grove has turned all the leaves brown but the Culm is still green
I dug around with my hands today and not much was happening. NO rhizome at all no buds...???
The Yellowgrove that had my first whip shoot has developed quite well!!!
I have about 30 shoots off this clump all small in dia. bt most are 3-5 feet high.
I'll get a photo and can compare to an early shot I took.

Culms can sometimes stay green for quite a while after they are essentially dead. I have had culms that dropped all of their leaves re-leaf, but, given what you started with, I don't think that one's gonna make it.
(P.S.: It's Yellow Groove. not Yellow Grove.)

Hello Bamboo group,
Ok so I pulled the Yellow groove I got from Ebay out and washed off the root.
It did have small buds near where the rhizome was cut...
So I cut the culms to 3 foot and potted it. They were 15ft.....
Should I keep this pot in a shadey spot or in direct sun?

I used a mix of potting mix and top soil..
Then added some fresh wood chips....

AND YES!!! I did cut a BIG hole in the bottom of this pot...
Also I got a bag of 27-3-3 fertilizer for 1.00 today...
That will come in handy next year....
