exterior metal paint on plants - wash off or prune?

Post by iain »

We had a contractor in today tasked to paint the exterior windows and doors. I thought everything was going "swimmingly," too swimmingly, when he appeared and began immediately slapping black paint on the washing line poles. If I had known, if the letter had stated the poles were set to be repainted, I would have made provision and tied the plants up! Damn, no great deal, only it could have been avoided. I don't want to tar all with the same brush, hohoho, but I have found contractors to be blase when working on "social housing." Now, if they were being paid directly by those in whose home they were tasked, it would be another story, I'm sure. Here endeth the rant :)

Don't get me started on contractors and plants...

If it were my plants I'd just leave them for a while and see what happens. You can always prune later if needed.

I wasn't sure if I had the right forum for this topic, but they are, after all, pests where plants are concerned.
