Bill,
In the 2007 ABS Source List, B. sp. 'Richard Waldron' was listed as 20 feet max. height. On the Bambooweb.info gallery, the listing is 10 feet. Will the 10 max. be in the 2008 ABS Source List or do I need to try and make a case for it being 10 feet and not 20 feet?

Talked with Sherry Snodgress (east coast of Florida) today and she says about 7 feet is her clump. So, just wanted to reiterate that I don't know anyone who is getting 20 feet as listed in the 2007 ABS Source List and I'm not sure were the 20 feet came from. I think this one needs a change in height.

I will have to measure, but do not believe mine ever reached 10 feet either.

Mine is 20 feet tall.
Bambusa texilis 'Dwarf' is also known as B. sp. 'Richard Waldron', right?
I got mine from Chuck and I just went outside and put 2, 10 foot sections of PVC pipe together and measured mine for heigth. I am not lying....It was 20 feet tall in dappled sun light under oaks. 20 feet. It is a field transplant in its second summer, so I suspect it might get a little taller maybe 1 foot more as it matures to its new home.
I know in the photo it looks shorter, but 2 10 foot PVC pipes makes 20 feet and that just barley reached the top of this boo.

RE: B. sp. 'Richard Waldron'
Silly me! I stand corrected.2 different plants.
I don't have B. sp. 'Richard Waldron' and thanks to you now I know the difference.
Maybe I heard it came from Richard, or who knows, added it to the name and twisted it into the same plant....silly me!

What's worse is when you have 2 plants with different names and no one can come up with different ID-ing characteristic to show how they deserve 2 difference name: Bambusa textilis 'Mutabilis' and Bambusa textilis 'Kanapaha'.mike best wrote:Silly me! I stand corrected.2 different plants.

Mine is about 7 foot in a pot. I still haven't planted it in the ground.

Max of 7ft in a pot would suggests more than that in the ground. 10ft for the 2008 List then?
