Plastered again

Post by dependable »

No, I've not got into the homebrew this early. Just a typical post wet snow driveway picture. ;}

Going to have to give them a whack with a broom or something, (then they bounce right up) or no one will come up the driveway(hummm...). Temp is rising so no rush, but if temp were falling I'd have to be out there now.

There is about 40 ft of P aureosulcata on one side and 30 ft of P bissetti on the other that completely block way. Sometimes I'll drive though it, only a few broken culms, and sometimes the odd antenna. Delivery drivers won't though.

I used to post a lot of pics like this, probably still here somewhere, several years back.

That is one of the main reasons I cut back all of the bamboo along my driveway in IN. It would take me 2 hours and I'd get soaked just clearing the drive so I could get out.

I did cut back a ways form the drive last fall, it used to be worse. But if I lived where this happened more than half dozen times a year, I'd cut back more. Last year it was only once or twice, this year 3 times so far. Often it is so windy here when snow falls it is not a problem. Also not a problem when colder.

If it is really bad I do run the bobcat or a truck though, which works, even if messy, and I still stay dry.

California pics and heat waves looking pretty good from here right now. Only 4 months or so winter to go...

I would get 25-30' Phy rubro on one side woven in with 20-25' Phy aureosulcata on the other and it was a tight weave that was very physical to unravel.

Yeah, like in this old post, I "unraveled" with bobcat. If I just had a regular car, I'd have to manage things differently.
