Name the shoot contest!...ANSWERS POSTED!!!
Here are pictures of two different bamboo in my yard that have just started shooting. The first person to correctly identify both species wins 100 freshly harvested Fargesia nitida seeds delivered free to your door (well, not in person, but I'll use my own stamp).

Inspired guesses, but not correct. However, you do get 25 seeds for exhibiting bravery! Email me your address.

Can't resist a good guessing contest.
1. P. angusta
2. I like Rick's P. elegans guess too except that shooting time shouldn't be so late. Nevertheless, I'll guess that too.

I'm monitoring this closely. I now have a purpose in life. And as soon as I see a winner, I'll stop this fierce competition. If someone doesn't get it right by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 14th, I'll make a Solomonic decision and award the seeds to the bambusero with the closest guess (whatever that means)...
