Well the shoot did not abort and although it appears to be a whipshoot, it surely seems to be Viridis despite the 'wrong' culm leave characteristics. It is very 'dimply' on the upswipe, which is very Viridis-like.

Maybe you have one of those rare bast**d plants !!!! 8)
Carefully dig it back and see from what direction it came from, it has to have a mother plant, right?
